Description:

This artifact, from IT525, shows a leadership statement serving as the guidance and reference for instruction designers in their practices within an organization.  Ethical standards are set to promote ethics in instruction design and to guide digital users’ technological user behavior. This set of ethics codes establishes an ongoing standard to meet new challenging situations that test an organization’s ability to identify and respect the rights of its stakeholders.

Rationale for Inclusion:

This artifact aligns with this category by showing my understanding and knowledge in observing the ethical practices in the field.  Every profession has codes of ethics.  For instructional designers, ethical standards described in AECT are the moral dimension to ensure that client and societal rights are not violated e.g.copyrights. This artifact demonstrates concerns and criteria in ethical issues related to the practice in instructional design field.

This artifact aligns with my career goals/professional standards:

The ethical standards guide instructional designers in developing, applying and disseminating any digital contents in any personal or business dealings.  This artifact aligns with AECT professional standards in using intellectual properties and it aligns my career goals to be abided by the code of ethics.
